The Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank has distributed more than 70 million pounds of food over the past 25 years.
Distribution to member agencies increased 34.8% from 2001 to 2008 (676,000 lbs of food). Distribution of fresh fruits and vegetables increased more than 200% from 2001-2008 (208,000 lbs).
Through member agencies in the 8 counties served, more than 285,000 people received food assistance in 2008 (up 87% since 2001) and 37% of those were children (over 106,000).
More than 1,500,000 meals were served by our member agencies in 2008.
