The Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank, Inc. is a member of Second Harvest - The Nation's Food Bank Network, which is the largest domestic hunger-relief organization in the United States. This year we are celebrating our 24th anniversary in service to Northwest Ohio. Since our founding in 1984, we have distributed more than 66 million pounds of food and grocery products to those in need.

The Food Bank currently serves more than 200 non-profit member agencies in eight counties in Northwest Ohio including Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky, Wood and Williams. In effect, the Food Bank is a cooperative effort to solicit, transport, sort, repack and distribute large amounts of food and grocery products.

Soliciting food donations from national, regional and local growers, manufacturers, packers, wholesalers and retailers, the Food Bank distributes these products to a network of non-profit member agencies in Northwest Ohio.

As food banks face record shortages nationwide, Senator Brown wants to convince Washington to lend a hand. The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) will provide $40 million in assistance and help organizations that feed the hungry, until the permanent Farm Bill is passed.
